Invisalign® Treatment in High Point, NC
Relax Dental of the Triad is pleased to announce that we are now offering Invisalign® orthodontic treatment in our High Point office. Invisalign treatment is state-of-the-art orthodontic care that offers the benefits of traditional braces without the visible metal hardware in your mouth. If you have issues with crooked or crowded teeth, overbite, underbite, or jaw pain, Invisalign treatment could be a great option for you to reclaim your beautiful smile.
What Is Invisalign Treatment?
Invisalign orthodontic treatment uses clear plastic trays—called aligners— that fit comfortably over your teeth. Patients wear the Invisalign aligner trays day and night to gradually shift their teeth, moving them into proper alignment and delivering a spectacular smile.
Invisalign aligners are very thin and totally clear, so they are virtually undetectable once they are on your teeth. In fact, most people will never know you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment when you choose the Invisalign system.
Benefits of Invisalign Treatment
The biggest benefit of Invisalign orthodontic treatment is the near invisibility of the plastic liners. For adults, this discrete appearance can help them maintain a mature and professional look. For teens and tweens who may be struggling with acne, awkward growth spurts, and other hallmarks of adolescent life, Invisalign treatment offers an attractive alternative that doesn’t change their appearance. This can give them a much-needed self-confidence boost at a critical time in their young lives.
Invisalign treatment also offers flexibility for patients in terms of diet and lifestyle. Traditional metal braces are sensitive to damage and come with a long list of foods you need to avoid. Sticky and hard foods can cause damage to bands or wires, and can even cause brackets to detach from teeth. This means that many favorite candies and snack foods will be off-limits during the treatment period with traditional metal braces. Invisalign aligners, on the other hand, are removed while eating, so patients can eat and drink as normal, enjoying their favorite foods.

What ages can use Invisalign aligners?
Generally speaking, any patient that is a candidate for traditional metal braces is also a candidate for the Invisalign orthodontic treatment system. We do recommend considering a patient’s age and level of maturity and responsibility when choosing to go with the Invisalign system. Because the aligners can be removed, it’s important to make sure the patient is willing and able to wear the aligners properly for the duration of the treatment period. If parents or providers suspect that the patient may be tempted to “cheat” on the aligner plan, traditional metal braces that are securely affixed to the teeth may be a better option.
Does insurance cover Invisalign treatment?
Some dental insurance plans do cover Invisalign orthodontic treatment! When you call to set up a consultation, we can help you figure out your insurance benefits and discuss payment options.
How much does Invisalign treatment cost?
The cost of Invisalign treatment is typically comparable with that of traditional metal braces. When you come in for your initial consultation, your provider will go over financial considerations, including cost and payment plan options.
Can I just wear Invisalign aligners at night?
Although the Invisalign treatment system is a bit more flexible than traditional metal braces, it is a full-time treatment plan, and the aligner trays typically must be worn night and day.
