Mercury Separation Unit
Along with the digital x-rays that we take in our office, we have special mercury filters to stop the harmful agent from entering our water system. These filters are located in various locations throughout our suction system. The filters work to capture the amalgam and mercury filling material, then remove it to a sealed container. This container is removed by specialty companies designed to safely handle hazardous waste.
This precaution is necessary not only to protect the patient from the harmful agents but also the environment. This special filtration unit allows us to keep costs down and you safe during your treatment.
Dr. Bonnick never uses amalgam filling material in this office, but we are happy to remove it from your body as it breaks down in its ability to protect against cavities. For more information on our safety protocols, please call, 336-841-0000.
