Free Dentistry Event a Success
For unemployed individuals with little or no health insurance, something as simple as a routine visit to the dentist could be financially out of reach. To help these individuals, Dr. Bertrand Bonnick’s office recently participated in “Dentistry from the Heart,” an event that provided free dental services to those who needed it most.
High Point, NC – March 2, 2010 – Regular dental checkups are crucial to a person’s overall health. When people go for years without a visit to the dentist because they don’t have proper insurance, they run the risk of developing a serious illness that requires emergency treatment.
On February 19, Dr. Bertrand Bonnick’s office was able to reach out to these individuals through a one-day event called “Dentistry from the Heart.” Through the event, Dr. Bonnick, along with Dr. Robert Kreigsman and Dr. David Yu, were able to provide free dental service for more than 50 unemployed patients lacking proper health insurance. These patients received not only routine dental checkups, but also procedures like fillings and extractions.
“We treat the most critical problems for the patient,” Dr. Bonnick said. “What we do seems like a little thing, but it is very critical.”
“Dentistry from the Heart” patient Chelsea Bono echoed the sentiments of many who received free dental treatment from Dr. Bonnick’s staff through the event. “It just means a lot,” she said. “It gives us a lot of hope that people care.”
